Boss Nass is a prominent character from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. He is the amphibious Gungan leader of Otoh Gunga, the underwater city of the Gungans on the planet Naboo. He is depicted as large and imposing, with a gruff demeanor and a powerful presence.
Initially resistant to aiding the surface-dwelling Naboo, Nass views them with suspicion and prejudice. He exiles Jar Jar Binks from Otoh Gunga for his clumsiness and mischievous behavior. However, through the persistence of Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Nass eventually agrees to an alliance with Queen Amidala.
Boss Nass leads the Gungan Grand Army into a decoy battle against the Trade Federation's droid army, diverting their attention while Queen Amidala and her forces attempt to recapture Theed.
